System Upgrades is Mostly a cron based job unless you Automatically Update to Off.

     * Beta Updates is Nightly updates where is still a test version of new features, bug fixed & system Enhancements.
     * is not recommended to set your SCL to beta unless you agree and aware of the Beta may contain some bugs could need you to report
